Job Description:
The Human Resources (HR) Functional Business Analyst (FBA) works collaboratively within the HR Department to meet the business objectives through efficient and effective use of the systems and technology. The HR FBA has responsibility for maintaining the HR and benefits components of the current enterprise administrative system, PeopleSoft HCM. The HR FBA is also the primary liaison between the HR department and the developers and application support staff, partnering to integrate internally- developed system modifications by providing business specifications, test cases/plans, and functional testing support. In addition, the HR FBA fulfills the data needs, both internal and external to HR, to assist with day-to-day operational needs and broader strategic planning.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the implementation of new ERP systems or upgrades to existing systems. Activities include table setup, conversion, business process design, testing, training, communications, and documentation.
- Perform application system maintenance activities, including error/issue analysis and resolution, functional configuration, business specification maintenance, creation and execution of integrated and regression testing cycles, vendor interface support, application of vendor-provided system enhancement bundles, and HR security management.
- Collaborate with HR staff to ensure adherence to and compliance with SU policies and legal regulations as they relate to business processes and system functionality.
- Apply supported system knowledge to recommend business process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Create data reports, primarily using Tableau, in response to standard and ad-hoc requests received from various areas.
- Analyze and organize data sets for detailed HR reporting to satisfy emerging business needs.
- Create custom tables in the data warehouse, as needed, to facilitate specific recurring reporting needs.
- Maintain and enhance custom databases in Microsoft Access to collect and report on part time instructor appointments.
- Provide project management support for HR-related technology and business needs.
- Participate in cross-campus committees, councils, and cross-functional teams, as needed.
