Associate Director of Human Resources

The Associate Director of Human Resources is essential in advancing the institution's strategic objectives by managing and enhancing HR functions. This role involves overseeing HR operations, developing policies, and ensuring adherence to employment laws and regulations pertinent to the higher education sector. Key responsibilities include managing Unemployment and Workers' Compensation, amending and creating job descriptions, and handling recruitment and staffing. The Associate Director will also ensure compliance with Title IX and Title VI, as well as federal, state, and local employment laws, while developing, implementing, and updating HR policies and procedures following best practices in higher education. Collaboration with academic and administrative departments will be crucial to foster a positive workplace culture and promote employee engagement and development. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Job Requirements:
Education Required: Bachelor's degree or higher

Experience Required: Minimum of five years of experience working in a Human Resource environment that is responsible for benefit administration, recruitment, employee relations, performance evaluation, compliance, employee training and HRIS systems.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
  • Five or more years' experience in a supervisory, managerial, or administrative role.
  • Experience in a community college or Higher Education
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationship with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion
  • Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
  • Bilingual Skills.


Additional Information:

Salary: $65,000 to $98,000 commensurate with experience.
