DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District (Shasta College) sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west. General Responsibilities
Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the regular/contract college instructor to teach classes, to participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses, and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the vision, mission, and values of the community college district.
CLASSIFICATION:
Placement on the current Faculty Salary Schedule is commensurate with previous education and experience.
START DATE: This position is anticipated to start the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Any Degree and Professional Experience
Fire Technology
Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience,
OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
OR the equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
"Additional years of experience in a career fire department. Additional experience as a Fire Suppression Captain, assigned to Type 1 and 3 engines, and Truck Company operations. Certification as Fire Fighter 1 Lead and Skills Evaluator, and/or current Registered Instructor for the Office of the State Fire Marshal State Fire Training in the areas of Confined Space Rescue Technician, Rescue Systems 1, Fire Fighter Survival, Rapid Intervention Crew Operations, and Trench Rescue."
