This position is responsible for recruiting recruit new students to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), identifying new populations of students whose interests may align with CLAS program offerings, and exploring other areas of student interests that could help shape the development CLAS credentialing.

One important focus of the position will be to help identify students who have earned Associates of Applied Science degrees at community colleges and recruit them into our new Bachelor of Applied Sciences (BAS) in Professional Studies degree program. Another important focus will be to strengthen relationships with community college partners to support transfer students into the BAS and other CLAS undergraduate degree programs. As part of the CLAS Recruitment, Retention, and Student Success office, this team member will help identify and build pathways for students from novel paths (e.g., AAS degrees, workforce, certificate programs) into CLAS degrees and credentials programs that help match learner and employer demands.

Recruitment and Enrollment Management Specialist

What you will do:
  • Lead the recruitment of students into the Bachelor of Applied Science - Professional Studies (BAS-PS) degree program
  • Partner with the BAS-PS Program Director to set program enrollment benchmarks and develop and implement a marketing and recruitment plan.
  • Develop contacts and serve as liaison to community college and industry partners interested in the BAS-PS and other main campus CLAS credentials and degree programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key community and workforce partners to connect BAS-PS students with prospective employers and post-program opportunities.
  • Support the mission of the CLAS Office of Recruitment, Retention, and Student Success on initiatives designed to increase student recruitment to the BAS-PS and other CLAS undergraduate degree programs.
  • Collaborate with student affairs offices (e.g., admissions, transfer) to mutually support the recruitment of transfer and returning students into the BAS-PS and other CLAS undergraduate degree programs.
  • Support college efforts to market the BAS-PS and select other undergraduate degree programs.
  • Deliver individualized student support that promotes students' sense of belonging and persistence in CLAS at CU Denver.
  • Support program assessment efforts to understand key student success markers.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for the Intermediate Level for this position has been established at $50,822 - $56,172 annually.

The salary range for the Senior Level for this position has been established at $56,000 - $70,000 annually.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Senior Professional:
  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline in the liberal arts and sciences, education, business, or public administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of experience in academic services to undergraduate programs or students in higher education; and advanced experience with MS Office applications (i.e., Excel and Outlook).

Intermediate Professional:
  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline in the liberal arts and sciences, education, business, or public administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of experience in academic services in general in higher education; and experience with MS Office applications (i.e., Excel and Outlook).

Substitution: A bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Previous student recruitment experience, ideally in a higher education setting, demonstrating a track record of successfully engaging with prospective students.
  • Experience with transfer pathways, including familiarity with the transfer process, articulation agreements, and requirements for transferring AAS credits to four-year institutions.
  • Experience with academic advising practices, including the ability to provide guidance on course selection, academic planning, and degree requirements for successful transfer and degree completion.
  • Experience working with transfer students, for example, in assisting students with transferring credits, navigating the transfer process, and addressing transfer-related challenges.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and students from various backgrounds, including non-traditional and underrepresented groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
