The Compliance Office has an opportunity for a dynamic, knowledgeable professional to join its team as a discrimination and workplace investigator. The successful candidate will promote compliance with state, federal, and local law, regulations and College policies related to compliance, nondiscrimination, and workplace conduct.

Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of duties: Receive informal and formal complaints, investigate, analyze, and write investigative reports and recommendations to appropriate administrative officials. Investigator will:

Conduct initial inquiries; assist complainants to formulate complaint forms; prepare and conduct interviews; prepare requests for documentation; review documents and records; analyze facts based on legal and policy standards; make findings and recommendations; prepare investigative reports that identify sources of data, criteria applied, analysis performed, and conclusions drawn on work performed; advise members of the campus community, including administrators, supervisors, staff, students, and visitors, about policies, procedures, and expectations for prevention and response.
Interpret policies, regulations, guidelines, and laws.
Advise potential complainants of both informal and formal options for taking action.
Make recommendations to and work in collaboration with administrators and supervisors to prevent or correct unlawful discrimination and retaliation and failure to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and College policies.
Input data in a timely manner into case file management system.
Conduct follow-up with appropriate administrators regarding recommendations for corrective or remedial action.
Develop campus outreach programs that support compliance.
Present trainings/workshops about compliance-related matters, including nondiscrimination and equal opportunity

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree and
Two years of experience conducting investigations and writing reports, with a focus on equal opportunity and workplace concerns to support equity and compliance and
Experience in conducting civil rights and compliance-related investigations and
Experience in applying human resources principles, practices, and standards.

or

Candidates who possess similar minimum objective qualifications should describe in detail the education and work experience they regard as establishing the equivalency.

Preferred Requirements:
Experience in delivering education and training workshops.

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience working in investigation or compliance-related functions in K-12 or higher education settings
Investigation and interview techniques
Advanced techniques in the use of technology for conducting investigations, including data searches and the retrieval of electronic information
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in order to conduct investigative interviews and write clear, concise reports
Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of College employees
Demonstrate a high degree of integrity as demonstrated by the appropriate treatment of confidential information, adherence to policies and procedures, and professional conduct with representatives both internal and external to the College
Work independently, effectively multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
Exercise sound judgment
